Since 2007, Founding Partners Daniel O’Rielly and Dena Roche have led our California-based practice with a clear focus: guiding law firms through formation and governance planning, partner transitions, law firm succession planning, and dissolutions, while advising on ethics, risk management, and compliance.

Our work has always been defined by clarity, discretion, and practical solutions. With our new office in New York, we bring this same approach to the East Coast.

New York Managing Partner Briana Cummings brings her extensive experience as a law firm founder and as outside general counsel to emerging startups and multinational corporations to help firms build for the future. She advises on law firm formation, governance, compensation systems, succession plans, cross-border partnerships, partner transitions, risk management, and legal ethics compliance. 

Her expertise includes:

• structuring and drafting law firm partnership, PLLC, and PC agreements and governing documents;
• designing attorney compensation and incentive systems that reward collaboration and growth, along with promotion pathways, succession plans, and retirement frameworks that protect owners’ investments and the firm’s legacy; 
• structuring cross-border relationships to ensure to ensure compliance with New York’s requirements; and
• advising on risk management and ethics compliance to help lawyers and law firms navigate growth, departures, and dissolutions with clarity and confidence.. 

This combination of business insight and ethics guidance allows us to support clients through every stage of the law firm cycle.
